چکیده
For a linear ODE with indeterminate coefficients, we explicitly exhibit a fundamental system of solutions in terms of the coefficients. We show that the generalized Wronskians of the fundamental system are given by an action of the Schur functions on the usual Wronskian, and thence enjoy Pieri’s and Giambelli’s formulae. As an outcome, we obtain a natural isomorphism between the free module generated by the generalized Wronskians and the singular homology module of the Grassmannian. 2000 Math. Subj. Numerical Simulation of 1D Linear Telegraph Equation With Variable Coefficients Using Meshless Local Radial Point Interpolation (MLRPI)
In the current work, we implement the meshless local radial point interpolation (MLRPI) method to find numerical solution of one-dimensional linear telegraph equations with variable coefficients. The MLRPI method, as a meshless technique, does not require any background integration cells and all integrations are carried out locally over small quadrature domains of regular shapes, such as lines ...
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Seismic Wave Propagation Equation in Uniform Soil on Bed Rock with Weighted Residual Method
To evaluate the earth seismic response due to earthquake effects, ground response analyses are used to predict ground surface motions for development of design response spectra, to compute dynamic stresses and strains for evaluation of liquefaction hazards, and to determine the earthquake induced forces that can lead to instability of earth and earth-retaining structures. Most of the analytical...
متن کاملNumerical solution of the one dimensional non-linear Burgers equation using the Adomian decomposition method and the comparison between the modified Local Crank-Nicolson method and the VIM exact solution
The Burgers’ equation is a simplified form of the Navier-Stokes equations that very well represents their non-linear features. In this paper, numerical methods of the Adomian decomposition and the Modified Crank – Nicholson, used for solving the one-dimensional Burgers’ equation, have been compared. These numerical methods have also been compared with the analytical method. In contrast to...

This paper present a novel numerical algorithm for the linear one-dimensional heat and wave equation. In this method, a nite dierenceapproach had been used to discrete the time derivative while cubic spline isapplied as an interpolation function in the space dimension. We discuss theaccuracy of the method by expanding the equation based on Taylor series andminimize the error. The proposed metho...
متن کاملNonstandard explicit third-order Runge-Kutta method with positivity property
When one solves differential equations, modeling physical phenomena, it is of great importance to take physical constraints into account. More precisely, numerical schemes have to be designed such that discrete solutions satisfy the same constraints as exact solutions. Based on general theory for positivity, with an explicit third-order Runge-Kutta method (we will refer to it as RK3 method) pos...
